The wait is over. We are excited to finally open our new store at Leopoldplatz…

Number 15 as the kickoff for the expansion year
The 15th Store of Berlin’s Cult Burger Chain Opens in Braunschweig
By the end of the year, the company aims to more than double its number of locations.
With the opening in Braunschweig on January 27, Burgermeister expanded its reach and continues its nationwide expansion. According to the company, further openings are planned in cities such as Frankfurt, Stuttgart, and Düsseldorf, as well as additional locations in Berlin. A total of 25 new restaurants are set to open this year.
The new Burgermeister Ritterbrunnen branch in Braunschweig spans 140 square meters and offers 34 indoor seats along with 16 outdoor seats. As in other stores, its own music and art concept is implemented. In addition to on-site dining and takeout, the Braunschweig store delivers via popular platforms.

Over 2,000 Burgers Sold in the First Two Days in Braunschweig
According to the company, more than 2,000 burgers were sold within the first two days after the opening in Braunschweig. This highlights the successful start at the new location and strong customer acceptance.
Continued Expansion
Since its founding in Berlin in 2006, Burgermeister has continuously evolved. Despite its growth, the company remains committed to quality. The burgers continue to be made from fresh ingredients, produced in-house, and free from additives. The central production facility in Berlin’s Tempelhof district, which includes an in-house bakery and butchery, supplies all current and future locations.
Burgermeister began its nationwide expansion in 2024, opening its first restaurants outside Berlin in Potsdam, Hanover, and Leipzig. In the medium term, the company aims to expand not only across Germany but also internationally. Poland and the Czech Republic are key focus markets due to their proximity to Berlin, but the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and the UAE are also of interest. COO Leander Brune mentioned these plans in an interview with foodservice in the summer of 2024.
Challenges Along the Way
Ambitious plans come with occasional setbacks. Burgermeister originally aimed to reach 20 locations by the end of 2024, but not all openings could be realized as planned. Additionally, the Braunschweig opening technically marks the company’s 15th store for the second time. In January, Burgermeister parted ways with its franchisee at Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, temporarily reducing its store count from 15 to 14.
