Coming Soon – Leipzig Store No. 2 Kicks Off Openings: Burgermeister Builds on Record Year and Strong Start to 2026
Burgermeister consistently continues its expansion course and announces its first store opening of 2026. Leipzig kicks things off: Burgermeister’s second location in the city is scheduled for February 19, 2026, located in the historic Josephkonsum on Karl-Heine-Straße. An exclusive “Ghost Kitchen” launch via delivery services is planned prior to the official opening. A final update regarding this will follow shortly. The Leipzig opening marks the start of an ambitious year, with over 30 new openings planned for 2026. We will provide continuous updates on these and other new locations. With this, Burgermeister continues its growth trajectory and strengthens its position as a leading German Quick-Service Restaurant brand.
With the new Burgermeister Josephkonsum store, the company is strategically expanding its presence in the west of Leipzig. Burgermeister is already successfully represented in Leipzig’s city center with its “Burgermeister Markt” location. The new store is located in the listed building of the former cult department store Josephkonsum, which has been extensively renovated and developed into a modern, sustainable commercial building. Covering approximately 290 square meters of floor space, the store will offer up to 90 indoor and outdoor seats in one of the city’s most creative districts.
The opening kickoff in Leipzig follows another extraordinary record year in 2025. Last year, the Burgermeister Group prepared over six million burgers, achieved a group-wide revenue of more than 100 million euros, and generated an average net revenue of 3.5 million euros per location. Additionally, the company recorded over 1.2 million delivery orders growth that runs consciously counter to the general industry trend.
The start of the new year also underscores the brand’s momentum. As early as January 2026, Burgermeister was present as an official food partner at several high-profile events surrounding the NBA Berlin Games, from the LGCY Series and an adidas Panel Talk to an appearance at the Uber Arena during the official NBA event.
