Burgermeister opens new flagship store at Leipzig Markt: A new milestone in nationwide expansion

The Burgermeister Group continues to grow and is celebrating the grand opening of its new flagship store (Unit 15), Burgermeister Markt, located directly on the historic marketplace in Leipzig. With over 300 square meters of restaurant space and more than 100 seats (both indoor and outdoor), the new location becomes a central hub for all who value top-quality burgers, fresh ingredients, and authentic flavor without unnecessary frills.

“We’re thrilled to finally bring our burgers to Leipzig and welcome this dynamic city as a new chapter in our success story,” said Leander Brune, managing director of the new branch and COO of Burgermeister. The prime location attracts not only locals, but also the city’s many visitors looking to experience Leipzig’s vibrant atmosphere.

The acquisition of the former Burger King location at the market was made possible through an early agreement with the previous operator, enabling Burgermeister to open its doors to burger enthusiasts before the end of the year.

In addition to in-store dining, the Burgermeister menu is now conveniently available for delivery in Leipzig through our partners Wolt, Lieferando, and Uber Eats. Beyond offering the best burgers and fries, the new opening also brings more: around 40 new jobs are being created. “We’re proud to contribute not just great flavor, but also a valuable addition to the community with our new store”, added Leander Brune.

With the Leipzig location, Burgermeister takes a significant step in its nationwide expansion – a key new site that perfectly combines enjoyment, atmosphere, and urban life.
