Burgermeister Goes International: Kick-off in Poland for Our European Expansion
We’re Making History: Burgermeister is leaving German soil for the first time and opening its first international store – right in the heart of Szczecin, Poland. With our new flagship store at Rodła Square, we’re making a bold statement about our international growth strategy.
Why Poland? The close proximity to Berlin, the country’s impressive economic dynamism, and a highly motivated, experienced franchise partner make Poland the ideal entry point into new markets. Since our founding in the legendary toilet house at Schlesisches Tor in 2006, we’ve grown into a Berlin love brand with international appeal: 19 stores in Germany, over 700 employees, and annual revenue of €68 million in 2024 – with a clear goal of exceeding €100 million in 2025. Our entry into the Foodservice Top 100 confirms our chosen growth path – and we’re just getting started.
Burgermeister Rodła is coming: Our store in Szczecin will open with more than 210 square meters of space and over 80 seats. The grand opening is planned for early October 2025. Even in Poland, we remain true to our promise: top quality – Made in Berlin. Our burgers are made from 100% Irish beef, served with original Dutch freshly fried fries. From the bun made in our own bakery to the Irish beef patty – everything comes directly from our central production. The menu and pricing mirror the German model: the best burgers at the best price – now also internationally. And to top it off, there are our homemade cookies – freshly baked, as always at Burgermeister.
For the market entry in Poland, we have established Burgermeister Group sp. z o.o. as a joint venture together with our partner. Financing is provided entirely by the Burgermeister Group. Szczecin is just the beginning – additional locations in Wrocław, Warsaw, Gdańsk, as well as initial markets in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Spain, and Switzerland are already in the pipeline. The drive-thru concept is also being prepared for Poland and is currently in planning.
From Berlin to the world – the Burgermeister journey goes global. Let’s go.
